International programmes

At present, Rutgers Nisso Groep’s main international programme is Youth Incentives.

The Rutgers Nisso Groep only recently started to expand its international activities beyond the Youth Incentives programme, both in terms of counterparts, target groups, themes, and areas around the world as well as in terms of financing and donors. In 2009, priorities are to investigate the possibilities for collaboration in Eastern Europe as well as strengthening our international research network and activities.

Merger
From January 1st 2010, Rutgers Nisso Groep will merge with World Population Foundation (WPF), another Dutch organization working on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Both organisations share the same vision of people's sexual and reproductive rights and are complementary in this. A combined organisation aims at synergy and countering fragmentation. We expect that joining expertise and experience of the two institutes will work advantageously for both: the combination of research (Rutgers Nisso Groep), international advocacy (WPF) and capacity building (Rutgers Nisso Groep and WPF) will only strengthen our joint organisation.

The aim is to have a formal merger on January 1st 2010. The year 2010 will be a year of transition. During 2010 both Rutgers Nisso Groep and World Population Foundation will carry out international programmes that are planned and funded till the end of 2010. Both organisations will implement these programmes without changes, while already intensifying the collaboration and sharing of experiences. The actual merger of international programmes will take place from January 2011 when a joint international programme will be carried out.
