A never ending story?
Let us acknowledge the fact that, although there is reason to indeed consider the Netherlands a guiding country in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights, there are many both permanent and ever-new challenges to be met here as well. The present government is (not counting the opposition within both Cabinet and Parliament) rather supportive of policies, research, measures and provisions to meet these challenges. This means, among others, that both the Ministries of Health, of Education, and of Foreign Affairs, are supportive of the work done by organisations such as Rutgers Nisso Groep. However, new governments may not be as sexual health-minded as the present one. Therefore, Rutgers Nisso Groep always advocates putting and keeping sexual health on the political agenda. What we have learned from the past and elsewhere is, that sexual health is never fully or absolutely accomplished but in constant need of proper and renewed attention. In that sense, the Dutch context is no different from other ones.
